This candidate will be responsible for designing various mobile game systems throughout production and launch with a strong focus on virtual-goods and monetization. Ideal candidates must have a strong passion for analytical game design, helpingto define metrics that inform future design with direct, measurable impact. The Senior Designer will work with the Lead Designer to implement best practices and strategies built around the Free-To-Play business model. Responsibilities:
Focus on design, balance, and maintenance of live operations within a Free-to-Play game economy.
General mobile game design including level design, combat, AI, UI/UX, narrative and multiplayer gameplay.
Research player behavior and propose new features, events and live updates based on player and community feedback.
Balance gameplay systems across a series of games within a complex gaming universe, tuning with game metrics and user focus testing.
Create, evaluate and maintain design documentation.
Use your knowledge of best practices within the mobile, social and casual marketplace to implement internal best practices.
Communicate closely with Production, Art, Design, and QA teams in coordinating creative efforts.
3+ years in the mobile, online and social spaces with a proven track record of designing successful, highly monetizing Free-To-Play products and their related economies throughout production and live support.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills to facilitate quality game designs, monetization strategies and overall fun-to-play
Deep understanding of free-to-play best practices regarding Retention and Monetization.
Broad understanding of major game systems – core loop, meta-game, game balance, economy, and IP creation.
Shipped successful AAA titles as a designer
Intimate knowledge of the casual and mid-core gaming demographic.
Able to adapt to ever-changing market conditions
Comfortable with working with a diverse team of professionals in a high-performance work environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A passion for making the best games.
Great to have:
BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics or related field.
Experience with Unity.
Familiarity with Scrum and agile development techniques.
